Dr Zeus....UK top Djz 1 (Raper)

Dr Zeus, DJ Swami, DJ Stin - The Slayers:

The Slayers was released on the Envy label as a joint effort by DJ Stin, DJ Swami, and Dr. Zeus. It is a very short album with 6 tracks and only one being longer than 4 minutes.

Dr Zeus - Escape:

This album consists of 8 tracks put together by Dr Zeus. Some of these songs are available on his other albums but still worth your time. Features a lot of big name artists like Balwinder Safri, Surinder Shinda, Binder Bajwa, Kuldeep Manak, Labh Janjua, Dippa Dosanjh, Lil Sach, and more.

Dr Zeus - Death Jamm Collection (1, 2, 3, 4, 4.5, 5, and 2004):

I had never heard of this collection before 02lPatelP submitted this. On some sites it says that these albums are Dr Zeus's but I heard a few of the tracks and they are by various artists. I don't have any opinion on this album yet - if your familiar with it or want to check it out go ahead.

Dr Zeus - Back Unda Da Influence:

New album by Dr Zeus, its pretty ill although its more like UK style bhangra. There are still a few traditional tracks and a few ones - the types that made Zeus famous. The guy who ripped this album called Lehmber Lamb Burger on track 9. Hahah, enjoy courtesy of 02lpatelp.

Dr Zeus's High-Life:

A great album by Zeus. What else can I say?

Album: High Life
Artist: Various
Producer: Dr Zeus

Track Listing:
01 - Gwandian Da Dhol
02 - Pathlo
03 - Tappe Boli

Dr Zeus's The Street Remixes:

Bombay Rockers - Introducing

DJ Marco & David Croop de Booij at GODDEZZ, Mont Kiara

It's becoming the happening place already! The last few weeks have seen a great crowd. Fine DJ's and wicked music! so in order to rtake it one step higher again, we're bringing the grand master of sexy house back! DJ Marco de Booij this Thursday (11/9).
He began DJ’ing, organizing parties and promoting clubs in the late eighties, influenced notably by Francois K., Louis Vega, Kerri Chandler and others who he still considers to be his mentors. He developed a reputation and a mailing list around his local scene, playing regularly at The Temple, Paard – Glitterclub or disco inferno parties in the summer. Also in the summer Marco was a regular guest DJ at the numerous beach parties in the Netherlands.

Marco works his magic through a mixture of disco, soulful and funky house trying to always keep one eye on the dance floor. He won’t be happy until the dance floor rocks and the clubbers are screaming for more.Because it is a special nite there will be no cover charge but you must be on the guest list.

dJ 2.0 Shram !!!!

So, I decided to mix things up and little and start a series of DJ interviews in a form of a blog Q & A. The DC nightlife blog deals with all things related with the DC music scene, so what a better way to explore DC than to talk to its superstars, The Artists?

The DJ 2.0 Blog series will feature interviews from DJ’s artists and producers whenever we get the privilege to interview them. The blog focuses on the DJ’s take on the web social media phenomenon, and the evolution of Electronic Dance Music through Web 2.0. Interviews will be coordinated by Pete Moutso, and will be presented in the blog format by Antonis Karagounis.

Enjoy!
Blog entry #1

SHARAM TAYEBI
DC producer, dj, founder of DC Grammy Award Winning Duo Deep Dish, need I say more?

1. Tweet or not Tweet?

Tweet but be interesting. I don’t want to know when you are taking a shit, getting in a cab or checking into a hotel. Or if you are tired or not, who gives a damn? Tell me something I can learn from, tell me something I can care about. Mesmerize me! Oh… And don’t be a hater when my teams lose.

2. Facebook or Myspace?

They both have their plus and minuses. For an artist Myspace offers more choices to display your art visually, like a website, where Facebook is more interactive and personal.

3. CD’s or Serato/Traktor/Ableton/Other?

Traktor

4. Press Release or Blog?

Toying with both. Starting a Blog soon, so come back to me next year on this.

5. CD release or Digital Release (Beatport/Itunes/Your Label site)?

I just released an album so both for that. For singles definitely digital only; Beatport for the DJ heads (5%-10% of the market) and Itunes/amazon digital for the rest of the folks.

6. Meet and Greet or Podcast?

I have a bi-weekly Podcast, and I meet and greet when I get the chance. Podcast is more broad geographically speaking of course, as you can only “meet and greet” in the city that you are at. Here is the question for yous, should I talk on my podcasts like a radio jockey? I’m not a radio personality so I end up sounding goofy. Write me back your comments on my Facebook – how is that for cross marketing baby? — ;o)

7. Message to Washington DC EDM Fans.

Keep on rocking it. DC used to be one of the worst markets, musically speaking when we were coming up, but now it’s a lot more educated and diverse. I love the DC crowd. One of my favorites worldwide actually. I think GLOW has had a HUGE impact on the scene by bringing so many different talents for so many years and building EDM fans. At the end of the day, a city’s musical scene is only as good as its promoters and clubs, and GLOW is shining like a mofo!

Washington, DC. May 16, 2009—Glow, the longest running nightlife event in Washington DC, is proud to present Superstar DJ, David Guetta, performing live, Sunday-May 24, 2009 at Fur Nightclub (33 Patterson St. NE, Washington, DC). A perfect way to begin the summer nightlife season in DC, French sensation DAVID GUETTA mans the decks to kick off the Memorial Day weekend and summer 2009.
For the last decade Glow has brought to the nation’s capital the biggest and most prominent House and Trance artists in the world such as Paul Van Dyk, Sasha and Digweed, Deep Dish, Paul Okenfold, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten, making it the foremost electronica event in the Nation’s Capital. Once again Glow is at the forefront of DC Nightlife entertainment with its announcement of the David Guetta, Memorial Sunday show.
There are some DJ performances that seem to create an unusual amount of hype and excitement in the DC nightlife and DC clubbing community. David Guetta live at GLOW is definitely one of them. At his last performance at Glow, David Guetta delivered an awe aspiring, unforgettable show. It was a moment to remember in DC nightlife, watching David Guetta delivering his impressive productions, connecting with the crowd, driving hands in the air, controlling the dance floor action, fans singing along to his hit records all awhile creating a magical atmosphere that left people filled with dancing hearts unforgettable memories.
David Guetta is a name synonymous with the world’s greatest house and dance music. Very few DJ/Producers have been able to do so much in so little time. His shows sell out in a matter of days. His club night, F*ck me I’m famous, in Ibiza, won the best Club Night award, and has also gained worldwide name recognition and brand name status. Since releasing his first single in 1992, David Guetta has sold over 2 million albums and 3 million singles worldwide. Considered France’s No. 1 club DJ for a decade, and named world’s 5th best DJ and best House DJ in 2008 by DJ Mag, DAVID GUETTA recently teamed with the internationally known Pop/R&B sensation and Grammy winner KELLY ROWLAND for his new single, “When Love Takes Over,” released digitally as a single track on April 28 2009.
With three chart-topping albums to date (Just a Little More Love, 2002; Guetta Blaster, 2004; Pop Life, 2007),and chart topping hits like “Just a little more love”, “Love don’t let me go”, “The World is mine”, “Love is gone”, “Tomorrow can wait”, “Every time we touch”, EMI Music will release Guetta’s much-awaited 4th album in September 2009.
Often imitated, never duplicated, Glow is the definitive leader and voice of electronica music in the Nation’s Capital. The Glow-David Guetta memorial Sunday event in DC symbolically begins the exciting summer nightlife season in the Nation’s Capital and will truly be a memorable night not to be missed.

The Night Clubs & dJ's

Here are 10 ways a DJ can dodge having to play a request without resorting to a fist fight. These are tried and tested excuses from out in the field and Beatportal has tried every one (maybe).
No DJ wants to be seen as a jukebox

1. “I’m just the warm up”

The golden answer to any request from a complainer is “I’m just the warm up DJ”. It’s a blanket answer that can be used for any request, be it hip hop or classical music.

The reply suggests that you’re deliberately playing records they don’t want to hear, so that the DJ after you can come on and play what they really want. That should keep them away from the DJ booth for a bit. But the real beauty of the reply is that it keeps the complainer in the club listening to your set, because they will be waiting around for the next DJ. No one likes an empty dancefloor, even if it’s just full of whiners.

2. “How long have you been here? I played it just before you arrived.”

When asked for a particular style of track, immediately reply with “How long have you been here?” Then, regardless of their response say, “damn, I’m sorry I played that track or that sound just before you got here.”

Your answer shifts the guilt back onto the complainer who will think they should have come to the club sooner, and the wonderful thing about that is that the next time they’ll be the first through the door. Then you’ll be really screwed.

3. “The guy after me plays that.”

An alternative on the “I’m just the warm up” excuse, except this one can be used to screw over the next DJ quite nicely. Afterall, a little rivalry is healthy for the scene.

You could even take it further and ask the whiner to write down their requests onto a piece of paper which you swear you will pass onto the next DJ. Then when changeover happens, point at the next DJ whilst winking at the whiner and then run home before the fireworks begin.

Another excuse that uses ‘time stamping’ to hoodwink the complainer into staying for your entire set is to count how many tracks you will need to finish your set and then say, “After X tracks, I’ll play it.” (Thanks fballoni!).

4. “The manager won’t let me.”

Shifting blame elsewhere is an old schoolboy trick, and if you say the manager won’t let you play whatever the complainer wants that should satisfy them enough to leave you alone.

You could even be really sympathetic and say “Yeah I know, I have the new Beyonce and everything, but the guy is such an asshole he only wants this underground techno shit.”

Look out for the ones that have a big sense of entitlement though, as they might be savvy enough to go straight to the manager to complain and then you’ll be forced by the venue to play Beyonce’s new one and you’ll have to smile through gritted teeth pretending that you’re really happy to do so...

Star Lady Automatic Moonphase Diamonds Watch

While most of us these days use our cell phones to tell the time, a truly sophisticated woman still knows the value of a timeless, elegant watch. And what better a watch to have than one that is not only a fine piece of craftsmanship, but one that also is beautifully accentuated with diamonds? This is where the latest watch from Montblanc comes in - the Star Lady Automatic Moonphase Diamonds Watch.

This elegant timepiece houses an ETA 4810/908 automatic movement in a 36mm, 18k white gold case. Other features of the watch include a mother of pearl dial, moonphase display, pointer date display, feuille hands, applied Breguet numerals, and 8 beautiful diamond hour markers. Securing these precious features is flat sapphire crystal with a special anti-glare coating, a sapphire back, and a fluted crown.

Priced at $10,175 USD, this is surely an investment you’ll want protected. Montblanc has gone ahead and made the the Star Lady resistant to water up to 30m, which will surely relieve any worries of splashes at the sink, or even an accidental drop in the toilet, bath, or any other body of water.

This beautiful time piece can be yours for the aforementioned price, and is available with a white or blue alligator wrist strap featuring an 18k white gold tang buckle.....

The Vertu Pink Diamond Phone

Forget the iPhone; anyone with an extra $500 to $600 laying around can get that at their local Apple or AT&T store. You want something a little more glam, and a lot more sparkly! And by sparkly we don’t mean those cheap Swarovski crystal-studded phones that were all the rage a few years ago.

If you want a truly blinged-out mobile phone, then look no further than Vertu and their limited edition Vertu Pink Diamond phone. The phone casing itself is made of rose gold, but what really makes the phone shine are its tiny pink and white diamonds paved in a pretty flower pattern. The Vertu Pink Diamond phone will be available in extremely limited quantities, but because of the opportunities those extra zeros in your bank account afford you, you won’t have to wait in line.

Celebs like Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Madonna have one in their bag… do you???

Kickbars: Diamond Encrusted Shoelace Clips

Sure, you could easily spend a few hundred dollars on a nice pair of designer sneakers, but if you really want to make your shoes sparkle and stand out from the crowd, you want diamonds on them! The Kickbar, a jewel encrusted shoelace clip, adds that extra bit of class and shine to your favorite lace-ups.

The Kickbar features 108 G/VS1 diamonds pave set into a rectangular, white gold bar. All in all, the diamonds add up to a total weight of 2 carats per pair. If you prefer a little more color, The Kickbar is also available with pink sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and an assortment of colored diamonds. These alternate stoned Kickbars all retail at their “current market value.”

There’s also a “junior” version of the Kickbars for those who can’t afford to splurge on the $7500 models, but who still love their diamonds. The junior Kickbars contain fewer diamonds. There are about 76 stones that added up to a total weight of 1.5 carats.

The Kickbars are secured to your shoe by threading them through the laces. Because of this set-up, they can also double as a necklace or bracelet if threaded into a nice chain.
At $7500 per pair, Kickbars aren’t for everyone, and we fully expect these to be popping up on the shoes of hip-hop stars in the near future!!

Eva Longoria & Tony Parker’s Piaget Wedding Bands

Just a couple days ago on 07/07/07, Desperate Housewives’ star Eva Longoria married Tony Parker, the championship NBA basketball player from the San Antonio Spurs. With two high-profile stars getting hitched at a star-studded wedding event, you just knew that they were not going to skimp on their wedding bands. The two stars sealed their love and marriage with these two beautiful and unique Piaget wedding bands.

The rings are each made of two bands that are “inseperably linked, turning together for eternity.” Now isn’t that quite the romantic touch? Eva’s ring features double rows of brilliant cut diamonds, which are divided by a row of 27 square cut diamonds down the center. That makes for a total of 107 individual diamonds on this super sparkler! Eva’s band itself is made of 18k white gold, like Tony’s, which is a much simpler ring. Both of the rings also have a personalized French engraving on the inside, which was added at the couple’s request

Majesty Cross Diamond Pendant Necklace

Love poker and diamonds? Then have we got the perfect necklace for you- the Majesty Cross Pendant necklace featuring a four-suit pendant of 18k white gold, studded with 2.85 carats of diamonds, all on an 18-inch matching chain.

To get a better idea of just how nice this necklace is, check out the up close image below. Just look at those diamonds sparkle!

Platinum & Diamond Designer Purse Worth $1.63 Million

While Fendi and Hermes might produce some of the most expensive purses at over $20,000 each for certain models, neither of them comes close to this one. Spectators at a recent Tokyo fashion show were dazzled beyond believe when they laid their eyes on this beautiful platinum and diamond evening purse by Japenese jewelry designer Ginza Tanaka.

This pricey handbag is beyond ornate, featuring 2,182 diamonds, totaling 208 carats on a pure platinum body casing. Retailing at $1.63 million (USD), this is by far the world’s most expensive and fanciest purse.
